Steve is staring at the gate and looking beyond the barricades. He can’t believe what he is seeing. Just past the wire is an unknown that he has never encountered since he joined the military. His heart starts pounding. It almost seemed his steps were in rhythm with his pounding heart. What do I do he said to himself. He looked to his left and his right checking for his buddies. This time they were not there, an uneasy feeling came over him.
Steve walked through the gate and approached the unknown. He has now entered the world of civilian. Normally he would have his battle buddies with him as they took on the unknown. Now he enters this mission alone. As the last part of him left military soil, he was instantly stripped of his rank and his identity. He now has to find himself all over and the challenges will be hard.
God Speed Warrior may you find yourself and help others. If times get dark you can call on your brother hood that took those steps before you. Things seam alone but your battle buddies are still here, we just look different.
